1946 : Erstes jugoslawisches Nachkriegsrennen zur Meisterschaft der Volksrepublik Kroatien. Der Opaija-Rundkurs ist ein Stadtkurs in Preluk rund um den Sportkomplex Opatija. Heute liegt Opatija in Kroatien an der Adriaküste westlich von Rijeka. Für Italiener heißt Opatija Abbazia und Rijeka, Fiume.
1947 : Das Rennen zählt für die erste Meisterschaft Jugoslawiens.
1950: Die Veranstaltung wird unter dem Namen des Adriapreises (Nagrada Jadrana) international.
1960: Die Veranstaltung wird zum Adriatic Grand Prix (Velika Nagrada Jadrana).
1961: Das 50ccm-Rennen ist der 5. Lauf zum europäischen FIM 50ccm-Cup.
1969: Der Adriatic Grand Prix wird zur Weltmeisterschaft.
1971: Kein Grand-Prix wegen bürokratischer Probleme nach einem Organisatorwechsel.
1972: Der Große Preis der Adria wird zum Großen Preis Jugoslawiens (Velika Nagrada Jugoslavije).
1973: Nach dem tragischen GP der Nationen und der TT wurde der ebenfalls als gefährlich geltende GP Jugoslawiens von Yamaha, Harley-Davidson und MV Agusta boykottiert.
1974: Otello Buscherini, Sieger auf Malanca 125, wird disqualifiziert, weil er ein Siebenganggetriebe verwendet hat. Der Brite Billie Nelson stirbt im 250er Rennen.
1977: Der Schweizer Ulrich Graf und der Italiener Giovanni Ziggiotto sterben bei diesem GP. Die Rennstrecke von Opatija wird dann aufgegeben.
1978: In Grobnik, einer Wüstenregion 10 km nördlich von Rijeka, wird in zwei Monaten und zu geringen Kosten eine neue Rennstrecke gebaut. Auf dem Automotodrom Grobnik findet nun der GP von Jugoslawien statt.
1981: Michel Rougerie wird beim 350er Rennen getötet.
1983: Der Schweizer Rolf Rüttimann wird im 125er Rennen getötet.
1989: Beim 125er-EM Rennen standen 3 Fahrer auf dem Podium, welche zwar nie Europameister, dafür aber Weltmeister wurden.
1990: Der Deutsche Reinhold Roth wird schwer verletzt. Der Italiener Eros Manferdini wurde im Mai bei der Europameisterschaft getötet.
1991: Im Mai verschlechterte sich die politische Lage in Jugoslawien stark (die Strecke liegt in Kroatien). Eine Runde der Europameisterschaften (Prix de la Riviera d'Opatija) findet am 12. Mai in Grobnik statt, aber der für den 16. Juni geplante GP von Jugoslawien wird abgesagt und durch einen GP von Europa in Jarama (Spanien) ersetzt. Es wird nie wieder einen jugoslawischen GP geben. Heute finden Läufe zur Seitenwagen-Weltmeisterschaft, Klassikrennen und Läufe zur Alpe Adria Championship in Rijeka statt.
