Tubbergen ist eine niederländische Stadt (Provinz Overijssel), etwa sechzig Kilometer südlich von Assen, dem anderen Höhepunkt des Motorradrennsports in den Niederlanden. 1946 wurde ein Dreieckskreis zwischen den Gemeinden Albergen, Tubbergen und Fleringen angelegt. Die Länge der Strecke wird sich im Laufe der Zeit verändern: 9. 230 km (46-55), 8. 825 km (56-65), 8. 957 km (66-72) und 8. 745 km (75-81). Die Rennen in Tubbergen waren ausschließlich national (Senioren-Sieger auf blauem Grund) bis 1949, als die Rennen für die 350 und 500 für Fahrer aus den Benelux-Ländern (Benelux-Rassen) offen waren; sie waren ab 1950 wirklich international und die Veranstaltung wurde das zweite große Rennen des Landes nach der niederländischen TT in Assen. Bis 1980 umfasste die Veranstaltung auch Rennen für nationale Junioren. Zwei tödliche Unfälle im Jahr 1972 und die Schwierigkeit, die Straßen am Pfingstwochenende zu sperren, führten dazu, dass die Veranstaltung in diesen zwei Jahren abgesagt wurde. 1978 startete die Superklasse in zwei Runden. Jeder Fahrer benutzte eine 250 in einem Durchgang und eine 350 in dem anderen. Die erste Runde gewann Vic Soussan (AUS, Yamaha) und die zweite Pekka Nurmi (SF, Yamaha), Tom Herron gewann die Gesamtwertung. 1979 war die Formel 200 offen für 2-Takter von 450 bis 750 ccm und 4-Takter von 750 bis 1000 ccm. Boet van Dulmen gewann sowohl die Läufe als auch die Gesamtwertung. In den Jahren 1980 und 1981 wurden die 500er Rennen zweimal von Van Dulmen und Zoet in 80 und beide von Zoet in 81 gewonnen. 1984 fand die letzte Ausgabe des Tubbergen-Rennens auf einer neuen 3. 780 km langen Strecke nördlich der Stadt statt. Leider hatte Tubbergen seinen Anteil an Tragödien. J. J. A. Colpaert (NL), 1954. John Bacon (Großbritannien), 1965. Leo Commu (NL), 1972.
